Plant Technical Manager

With over forty years of experience in food production, DewFresh Products Limited has a long-standing reputation as a quality producer of meat products with its esteemed retail and catering clientele. In view of the recent growth in business activity, the company is seeking to engage a full-time Plant Technical Manager.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage the correct operational execution of preventive, predictive, corrective and compliance maintenance of the Company.
  • Supervision of various installations and commissioning of plant machinery.
  • Ensure that the necessary troubleshooting of ad-hoc malfunctions is done in a systemized fashion and in a timely manner.
  • Manage the execution of risk and root cause assessments following incidents, inspections or other observations.
  • Leading and managing the Maintenance team with the right coordination and delegation of all tasks mostly pertaining to first-level support and preventive maintenance.
  • Devise and implement a Maintenance Reporting system where all internal customers’ requests are logged.
  • Full monitoring of the Building Management system.
  • Develop a systemized yearly preventive maintenance plan and ensure that is being executed.
  • Develop SOPs and Work Instructions whilst ensuring that they are all adhered by the Maintenance team.
  • Full responsibility of the health and safety function, ensuring proper action on safety issues and promoting safety culture throughout the company.
  • Drive and support the necessary operational communication to ensure efficient operations and the relevant feedback to stakeholders
  • Manage technical escalations, and deviations where necessary and in agreement with the relevant HODs and the agreed recovery processes.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of available resources in various maintenance works.
  • Explore and recommend innovative methods, based on best practices, in order to bring about cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate must ideally possess:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferably with a warrant.
  • At least 5 years of relevant leadership experience in a similar environment in particular within the FMCG sector and in industrial refrigeration.
  • Excellent decision-making skills in fast-changing and complex environments, and capable of dealing with uncertainties.
  • Be proactive in detecting any predictable irregular circumstances and able to rectify accordingly with well-placed contingency plans.
  • Strongly results-orientated with a corresponding sense of responsibility; directs work and ensures accountability.
  • Be computer literate and fluent in both written and verbal English.
